“A Celebration of the Dark Goddess Within”

Hosted by:  Embersprite, F.I.R.E Senior Elder

Location: To Be Announced via email. Your RSVP is required

There is no fee to attend this event but we ask you to bring at least one non-perishable food item to donate to those less fortunate. In ages past, “Hecate’s Suppers” involved leaving an offering of food at the crossroads on the “eve of the new moon” (Ovid) as it was believed to gain the Dark Goddess’ favor.   She accepted these offerings by having those closest to her heart eat them…the poor folk and stray dogs.   The Dark Goddess intended for her suppers to result in a charitable act.

What to Bring:

In addition to a non-perishable food item, each sister is encouraged to bring a snack to share.   Dark chocolate, garlic, cheese cake, pomegranate, fish, eggs, honey, croissants, lavender and mint are all traditional foods and drinks to celebrate the Dark Moon phase and Hecate’s feast day.  All sisters are invited to bring meditation cards, divination tools, and/or sacred objects they would like to bless.  It would be wise to bring a journal and pen as well.

The Purpose and What to Expect

This gathering is to honor the “Dark Goddess” energy within and without.  The Dark Moon is the phase of a woman’s cycle and life often ignored (and feared) but it is an important and powerful aspect of our feminine being.  During the Dark Moon, our menses, and the Crone stage; women retreat to the quiet, dark cave of their subconscious to rest, refresh and heal, commune with Spirit, dream and plan.  It is in this dark and sacred place of non-distraction that we find our Wisdom.  This is an event exclusively for women…young sisters who have already experienced menarche are welcomed as well.  Due to the meditative and relaxed atmosphere, no children except babes at the breast please.

Hecate is the Goddess of the Crossroads and the Subconscious Underworld.  Her worship predates Egypt and Greece for she is the Primordial Dark Mother Goddess.   She is patroness of: women, children, orphans, midwives, herbalists, shamans, mediums, healers and dogs.   Her energy is found in every woman who chooses to empower herself and promote women’s mysteries.  It is this energy we will be honoring both within ourselves and without.  We are celebrating the “wise and wild” woman within.

We will gather in a brief ritual to pray, chant and celebrate our sisterhood and the Divine Feminine.  This ritual is a “no-judgement” zone.  Emotional healing and release can occur during this time (we will enkindle the flames of healing and growth…not smother them with judgement or gossip.)   Once ritual is concluded, we will continue our celebration by sharing tea and snacks, reading tea leaves (assistance as to “how” will be given) and strengthening sisterhood.

There is no fee to attend any of our events. We ask only ask that you leave a donation to help us pay for supplies and the atmosphere that make your experience with us more meaningful.

Space is limited, please RSVP and reserve your spot below.
